Coire is a great teacher with a lot of knowledge to share. I have a few years of experience and he did a great job figuring out the state of my skill set and has tailored the lessons perfectly to push me forward without overwhelming me. His lesson homework is focused around actually making music and not just rote memorization of scales and patterns. Highly recommended to beginners and experienced players alike!Sep 8, 2018Verified
I have been taking lessons with Coire for about 6 months now and feel that I have learned an incredible amount for such a short amount of time. I have had other guitar teachers, but Coire is the one teacher that has allowed me to explore unique musical genres and learn the songs that I love instead of learning from a book. There have been times that I picked a song that was too complicated for my level, but Coire worked with me to create an easier version that I was happy with. Coire and I have even created unique covers of songs together on the spot! I have never heard of another teacher doing this and I feel really lucky to be able to work with a teacher who is not only willing, but enthusiastic! Coire has an incredible knowledge of music theory and the way that music and science intersect. As someone who loves science, I have really enjoyed learning about why certain notes sound good with other notes and the way that sound waves intersect to create what we perceive as a beautiful melody. Overall, I have not only enjoyed my lessons, but also learned fingerpicking and barre chords in a few short months, 2 skills that I previously believed I would never be able to pick up. I could not possibly recommend Coire enough! If you are looking for fun lessons with an awesome dude that is more like a friend than a teacher, definitely go with Coire.Oct 11, 2018
We don't live near each other anymore, but when I was struggling to learn the guitar, I really enjoyed taking lessons with Coire. He always tailored them to what I was interested in and encouraged me to bring new music to our hour. Highly recommended!Aug 15, 2018

Coiree is a great teacher! He gives you the why when he teaches you something new which is very helpful. I enjoy our lessons very much and know I am learning faster than I normally would because of him.Dec 4, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Lessons are $60/hr and offered online through Zoom, Skype, or Facetime for $60/hr.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I encourage every new student to share a thoughtfully constructed playlist with me. I want to understand what you love most about music and where you want to grow. Where do you see yourself in three, six, and twelve months after beginning our lessons? What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player? How do you learn most effectively, and what structure will you need at home to succeed? What do you want to achieve by taking lessons with me?
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I graduated from Musicians Institute in 2005.
