- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I encourage every new student to share a thoughtfully constructed playlist with me. I want to understand what you love most about music and where you want to grow. Where do you see yourself in three, six, and twelve months after beginning our lessons? What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player? How do you learn most effectively, and what structure will you need at home to succeed? What do you want to achieve by taking lessons with me?
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Musicians Institute in 2005. I have been teaching full-time since then.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I came from a non-musical family. Serendipitously, as life often goes, my next-door neighbor threw out a busted-up guitar. I fished it out of the garbage and my father glued it back together to give me something to do other than causing trouble (this was only partially effective). The rest is history!
