Introduction: The style of my work is authentic. It’s not overly contrived; my art captures the natural moments. I find the unexpected viewpoints and use natural light play to make my client’s photos uniquely their own. My story, as a photographer, began in Indiana in the 6th grade when I was handed a camera in journalism class. This camera sparked my entrepreneurial spirit and drive. I used that camera to take photos at school sporting events, edited the pictures that night, printed my favorites at the local CVS, then sold the prints to parents in the crowds at the following game. The network I built with all of those parents, teachers and students quickly led me to add weddings to my belt as I shot my first wedding in 2007 for a local teacher in the school system. Concurrently, requests for family portraits came in. And senior portraits. And local restaurants and corporations. This foundation led me to study art at Indiana University where I honed in my graphic design skills and met a mentor who connected me to Starbucks’ Creative Studio in Seattle, WA, where I still work today. Starbucks is where I get to use my passion for creative direction and advertising. This here, my small business, is where I get to continue feeding that spirit I had when I was in the 6th grade. Hustling, photographing the moments that people want to hold on to and look back on forever.
