Traveled across the country on vacation and proposed while in Seattle; Kelem made it easy to coordinate meeting up where I planned to propose so that she could take candid photos of my fiance and me—my fiance was completely shocked and Kelem helped make that possible by doing a great job hiding in plain sight. Hielen was very enthusiastic to help bring the vision we had for our engagement photos to life. She was especially helpful with implementing cultural celebration in our pictures. We were able to make the most of how busy it was at UW by collaborating on photo ideas and locations- her familiarity with the campus was a big help. Her energy made our first time doing a photoshoot fun and easier than we were expecting.

Hielen is such a talented photographer. She balances her professionalism with a relaxed a supportive nature during the shoot, nothing too posey or artificial. She can read the room, and capture amazing moments that only a trained eye can see. She is excellent with families, and she’s able to bring a smile out of the most mean muggin’ toddler, that can’t always be swayed. We head a lovely afternoon in the park and we are so grateful that she captured such a special time in our life.
