Introduction: The natural environment plays an important role for our interior environments. I am passionate about bringing this awareness through via my work and as well informing clients of the value in connecting or reconnecting with nature. Interior design is a wonderful opportunity to respond through materials and products that are inspired by the natural environment and in turn have low to no negative impact in terms of harming humans and environment. Susan helped me and my husband design and build an amazing playroom in our basement for our two young boys. She turned a dark and grungy basement room into a cheerful, fun playroom with plenty of space for kids to swing, jump, bounce, paint, rest and have sleep-overs, or watch a movie. We love our playroom! It inspires the boys to be active, it has plenty of storage, and serves as a guestroom when needed. My husband is constantly reminding me that creating the playroom was the best decision we have made about our house.

We were considering a remodel to a small additional bath and looked to One Source Design Studio for design solutions. The bath is small and somewhat limited in spatial options. The hardware and cabinetry outdated. Susan helped us in developing creative and affordable solutions using found materials and also sourcing local craftsman to fabricate specialized pieces such as the vanity. We love the newly remodeled bathroom! It is efficient yet playful. Susan brought her unique approach to solving problems and working with her made the process an enjoyable experience. We would recommend her to any of our friends!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically price by the hour, $75.00. However I also use a project rate which is determined by overall Square Feet.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters Degree in Interior Design as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art. I have also worked and continue to work with artist/designers here in the community. I have a strong connection with other industry professionals, such as builders, electricians, flooring and roofers.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
The love of design comes from an unending curiosity to explore. In exploring there is a fascination with relationships and how 'things' come together. I have always gone to Nature for inspiration which feeds my creative drive. I began the creative work as an artist, sculptor. I continue to work in 3D but on another level which is design. I find interior design allow for a broader range of expression and provides an important service to the community.
