Steven Moncado is currently an active composer, instructor, and active member in the music community in Tacoma, Washington and its surrounding areas. His instruments are violin, viola, and cello. He his been playing the violin for 20 years, cello for 16 years, and viola for 5 years respectively. He is continuously writing music for a variety of ensembles including orchestral as well as choral, and writes in a variety of different genres.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Music with a focus in Music Composition from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. He has studied under a number of recognized musicians and scholars such as Jeffery Bell-Hanson, Richard Nance, and Richard Treat just to name a few.
He has participated with multiple ensembles during his educational career including the Pacific Lutheran University Symphony Orchestra, and has had his compositions premiered across the country from Los Angeles, California to New York, New York.
He has continuously invested his will into spreading his passion for music, and hopes to continue this path for the rest of his career.

Steven is an amazing instructor. My son has been playing cello in school for two years. I've heard a more rapid improvement in 2 months of 1-day-per-week, 1-on-1 lessons with Steven than any other time with his orchestra. My daughter started lessons about a month and a half ago but I can already see improvement. Knowing nothing about the instrument she chose, Steven has been nothing but patient with her. The skills that he has shown as a teacher is nothing but impressive. My daughter loves him and cant wait for her weekly lessons.

One-time Lessons:

I do offer Monthly Lesson Plans at a discount. Each package comes with one lesson per week for 4-5 weeks at a time starting the first week of each month. Pro-rating is possible if a student would like to start mid-month.
Monthly Lesson Plans:

-45 minutes a week $190/mo
-60 minutes a week $240/mo
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When starting with a new student, I work hard to ensure we go over the student's goals and determine where we need to begin in the learning process. From there, I can advise and create a compatible lesson plan specifically designed to each student.
