Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: As a former photojournalist, I've been trained to look for the most story-telling moments. There is beauty and honesty in a photo captured without posing. But I also enjoy working with couples to showcase them at their very best. I take the emphasis off tedious time posing, and instead, "choreograph" a couple--to find that special moment that shows their true personality whether it is tenderness or sassy sexiness! Because I don't rely on standard, cookie-cutter poses, each couples' wedding is photographed uniquely.

I am go grateful Heidi agreed to photograph our vow renewal. The results were stunning (other than she could not make my stomach disappear!), and she provided us with a CD of the 300 pictures she took. She is extremely professional and creative. I debated hiring a photographer, but I am certainly glad I did. Thanks, Heidi.

Our experience with Heidi surpassed every expectation. She took the time to listen to our plans for the day, and hopes for photography. The results were everything we could ever have hoped to achieve. Thank you Heidi!

Heidi did an amazing job as our wedding photographer. First meets for engagement sessions can always be a little awkward at first, but she made us feel comfortable immediately and it was incredibly accommodating by traveling to our family farmhouse in Door County! Her prices are very reasonable and she produces amazing results. My husband and I are so incredibly happy to have chosen her for our wedding and we would recommend her to anyone else looking for someone who is professional, reliable, and holds incredible talent!

Heidi did an amazing job capturing every moment during both the engagement photos (which turned out awesome) and our wedding (I can't wait to see our wedding photos). If we had to do it all over again, we would definitely pick her! Great job, and fun to work with :)

It's tough to leave a full review on a photographer until you've seen the pictures, which understandably takes awhile. What I can say is that we truly enjoyed working with Heidi. She was everything you want in a photographer and made us all feel comfortable. Heidi was thorough and it was clear that she loves her job. Thanks Heidi for a great experience!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I stay abreast of the ever-changing field by seeking out mentors in the industry. In the past year, I've had opportunity to work and learn with photographers who have photographed presidents, and major stars like Carrie Underwood. In the off season, I enjoy networking with peers, taking technical seminars and studying professional periodicals. I also keep up with trends in wedding photography and look for ways to incorporate the best with my unique style.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There are plenty of photographers out there advertising services. If photography is an important part of your wedding, make sure the photographer you choose is truly professional--with education and strong background. Ask for client referrals and entire sample weddings. Look carefully at their portfolio images--these are the photos they feel are their very best. Look closely at the details in these images, like composition and lighting. Look critically at other issues, such as how the background works with the subject. When you see a photographer's portfolio, ask questions about images you like, and also ask about the ones you don't like so much.
