Introduction

Being a professional model and from a very artisic background, I was naturally interested in makeup art and hair art...I have been an Airbrush MUA artist for over 8 years and have been published nationally and internationally, I have a very long resume and have worked with celebrities, politicians and news broadcasters. Doing everything from soft glowing looks for weddings, high fashion runway looks, natural and corperate HD TV makeup. I do have a 15% cancellation fee that I enforce. This is my career, not a hobby. I love all the commercial work I do, but I also enjoy being allowed to create and being given free reign to work my "magic".

I recently had a television commercial done for my business. The producer decided I was to be in the actual commercial. Wanting to create a professional production, I needed to find a qualified makeup and hair artist. I submitted a request to thumbtack, received multiple responses and decided on Ruthy. To say the least, I could not have made a better decision! She was on time, completely professional, friendly, considerate, creative, detail oriented and an absolute joy to be around. Quite frankly...I never looked better! I will certainly utilize Ruthy's expertise again. Thank you Ruthy for making it all so effortless and for creating a truly professional product for my self and my business!

Ruth and her assistant are the sweetest! When we had our trial run it was a blast and Ruth did an amazing job. The job was doing airbrush for 10 ladies for my wedding. I hired Ruth for the job after our trial and shared our timeline for the day. I asked several times if she would be able to do all 10 within the 9:30-1pm time frame and to be safe we changed it from 9:30 to 9am to make sure we had enough time. She said she would be bringing an assistant that would help. They are both amazing people and I hate saying this but our entire timeline was thrown off by their lack of consideration to time. It was noon and 5 girls were still waiting to be done. Several had to correct their make-up because they were unhappy with it. I did love mine though! Ruth does wonderful work but we ended up having to tell them to stop leaving my mother in law and mother to do their own make-up because we ran out of time and had to leave. I asked several times throughout the morning if they could speed it up since our photographers were there to take photos of the bridesmaids and they responded that "everyone waits on the bride it'll be ok" I know they were kidding but that was really disappointing to me because as the bride I planned the schedule for a reason, confirmed the time frame with them several times and had coordinated drivers and photographers for the bridal party around the time frame we discussed. We lost a lot of opportunities for photos due to the time loss they caused. This experience was the only one that was disappointing on our wedding day.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
PLEASE NOTE: I send every quote on a case to case basis as it fits the request... the below pricing chart is just a standard idea of how I price and handle events that I am frequently booked for. Weddings- Bride is $250.00 (Hair and make up includes Airbrushing and tatoo coverage (if needed). If you have clip in extensions made of real hair only i can accomodate you by putting them in and styling.) Call me and I can set up a pre trial. Pre trial will cost only the travel in gas at 50cents per mile and should you choose me for your special day I will deduct the cost of the pre trial travel from your cost at 250.00. Additional wedding party members that need Make up will cost 50.00. Payment is due on the date. If you need me to stay for touch ups during the ceremony and for photos this needs to be mentioned. For corperate bookings- eg: Law firm headshots or video/commercials/TV...ect. Full days are 550.00. Half days are 350.00 For other artistic and special effects for movies or runway bookings...Please call me and we will talk in person about makeup and hair expectations and your budget.
