I will listen to your personal needs and wishes, pull on my 35 years of home interior design, carpentry, general contracting, vendor relationships, and project managing to bring your job to fruition. We can start with 2 hours for minor color and design consulting and move toward a volume discount for 10 hours on larger projects like kitchen or bathroom remodels.

I highly recommend Mary, the owner of ColorScapes. She helped us with paint color choices for our home's small remodel/addition project. She worked very hard in the time allotted and, with her expertise of color, recommended color choices that worked very well. She also gave us tips on other aspects of the project that helped greatly. She is very knowledge and professional and we would definitely hire her again.

I worked with Mary regarding counter and floor upgrades in my kitchen. She offered good ideas and provided sources for competent & respected suppliers/installers of material. Mary was great at working with me in the back-and-forth process of developing my vague ideas into specific designs, and then managing all of the work. We completely redid a guest full bath and then a 50-year old master bath. And new basement stairs and flooring. Not to mention exterior and interior painting and more. I really enjoy my new old house.

Working on the design/ general contracting of Karl's home renovation was a pleasurable and satisfying experience for my company. Karl had design opinions, but articulated his needs well, and then trusted me to design to meet his needs. The project was a success in every room of the house. Two full bathrooms, color, furniture, and accessories throughout, hanging his art, re-building his basement stairs to be safer on descent, a full basement remodel, exterior painting and composite deck work, blinds and lots more. We are relatively new homeowners who consulted Mary for design advice for our living room. She offered helpful ideas for layout, lighting, and where we might look to find affordable furniture. After our initial 2-hour consult, Mary continued to help us look for pieces and to offer suggestions.

Krista, Noah and I had a successful first meeting where we moved furniture around, created a vision for two walls to be built to solve organization issues, solved lighting issues, and more. We accomplished a lot. As I had indicated to Krista before meeting, it is not possible to choose actual furniture in this initial meeting given these other issues which needed to be solved. Deciding on exact pieces to purchase usually takes shopping online or visiting local venues. I am looking forward to helping with this in the future within a second meeting or online search together. Great couple and great home, but their expectations on what could be accomplished in two hours was not realistic and resulted in my getting a 4 star instead of a 5 star.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
1. I charge $175 per hour for color and design assistance. 2 hr minimum. Volume discounts for 10 hours paid in advance = $1500 plus admin.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is important to have a short chat by phone, text, or email before scheduling an appointment. A tour of the home may be necessary. Charges are prepaid for 2 hrs once an appointment is scheduled. Arrangements can be made to pay at beginning of home visit also.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have assisted over a thousand homeowners over 3 decades. My experience is broad. Interior design to general contracting. I have won a COTY Award in 2006. I will only take on residential projects.
