FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a $100 minimum project charge (excluding materials). This is to encourage bundling of smaller projects so that my time is cost effective for both you and I. If I can pick up the materials for your project in advance, I don’t charge for my time to purchase them, only the actual cost of materials themselves.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I determine the scope of the project and what is known and expected of the job. If there are significant unknown variables, I offer to visit in person to discuss some options. I don’t like to jump right into a project without first explaining to the customer what needs to be done and what they can expect of me.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a child and into my teenage years, I loved figuring out how things work. Naturally, I studied engineering in college, but it wasn’t as rewarding as I expected. I wanted to work with my hands on a regular basis, so I started working in construction.
