We had an absolutely fantastic experience with this photographer and his son. They went above and beyond to help capture one of the most important moments of our lives. He worked with us ahead of time to plan everything perfectly and even hid nearby so he could capture the surprise without being noticed.
When the moment happened, he caught it all — the emotion, the reaction, and the joy — completely naturally. The photos turned out incredible and truly tell the story of the day. His son was also a big help, making sure everything went smoothly and helping capture additional angles.
Professional, discreet, and incredibly talented. If you want someone who can capture real moments without making it feel staged, I highly recommend them. We will treasure these photos forever.

Dan was very responsive when we were looking for a photographer for our family. He explained everything and answered all our questions. When the day came for our session, Dan showed up early and scoped out the best location for our outdoor photos. With 11 people he was very organized and had our photos done in no time at all. To top things off, our photos were sent to us in just 2 days! The pictures were amazing and I can’t thank him enough for his time and professionalism. Dan is the perfect combination of professional and involved. His experience lead to many beautiful shots that were dreamt up by his passion for photography, rather than beautifying a point a shoot. While his skill and quality are that of a professional, he was personally invested on a much more individual level, even going out and purchasing additional materials (at no small cost) in order to fulfill a more artistic vision. Dan is a fantastic photographer and was the perfect choice for my fiancé and I. While the pictures that we requested were fantastic, it was the pictures where we let him run with it that produced the most frame-able moments. He CANNOT be beaten for the price, and we would use him again in a heartbeat.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am super reasonable and flexible. If we need to craft a shoot/pricing around your specific needs it's no problem. Let's talk!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we decide we are a match, I like to find out in more detail exactly what you are looking for. I'll then work up a simple contract and we will set a time and place to shoot.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in History from UW-Madison and an MA in History/Museum Studies/Public History from UW-Milwaukee. Trained in research, culture, anthropology, story telling really.
My college education dovetails nicely with my 35 years in the wine business. While I'm self taught on the specifics of wine, its my thirst for knowledge about the wine regions, people, history that make me really good at what I do.
In the same way, my passion for photography (which predates my love for wine by about 10 years) has driven me to learn as much as I can about all facets of the art. People, history and storytelling play a large role in my approach to photography.
