I live in a small one bedroom apartment, near downtown Milwaukee, and purchased the deep clean with carpet shampoo. Jennifer sent 2 ladies over to clean and they did a great job. I had some carpet stains that I thought would be a problem, but they got the stains out and the bathroom and kitchen came out really good. I will definitely purchase from Jennifer's Cleaning again.

Best carpet cleaning I ever had. VERY thorough. Got all dirty spots clean. Even got tile and linoleum floors clean. They moved everything. Were done in 2.5 hrs. Amazing. Would highly recommend. Their rotating shampoo "circles" are much more effective than any "steam" cleaning I've ever had.

Anointed Cleaners did an outstanding job! We needed our lunch room floor, concrete shop floor and carpeting cleaned. The results exceeded our expectations, especially with the lunch room tile floor. We didn't think it was possible to get it looking this great again. Anointed went above and beyond with the multiple wax stripping applications. The yellowed wax and deep scratches are gone, and the 20 year old tile is bright and shiny. We have more projects coming up, and Anointed will definitely be contracted for each project. Thank you so much, Valerie & crew!!!

Waukesha, WI I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with this franchise of Floor Coverings International. From the moment Matt (the owner) answered their phone to the moment Michelle just left they have been nothing but professional and a pleasure to work with. As I am in a wheelchair I needed to have the floors redone in my entire apartment. Once they set a time and date for the appointment they actually showed up when they were supposed to, unlike several other companies I tried to get out here to quote my job. Once Robert came out and we talked more about what I was looking for he went down to his van and brought back multiple samples of the products we had spoken about. In this case carpeting in the bedrooms and vinyl plank with a hardwood look finish everywhere else. After looking at colors we didn't really see anything that I liked, so once again he went back down to his van and brought up more samples. We finally settled on the carpet and flooring that I wanted a bid for. He then used his high tech measuring gadget, which was good as I have some quirky walls, to measure everything out. By the time he left the parking lot (10 minutes later) I had a firm quote in my e-mail from him. This is unlike some of the larger companies who if I could get to come see me I couldn't get a quote from them because they were "to busy".To shorten this up they came and put in the flooring and did a marvelous job. Their workers were courteous, showed up on time and did a wonderful job. Both Michelle, the project manager and Robert their sales person were here every day to check on progress and make sure I was being accommodated.Once again, I cannot stress how impressed I am with this company and all of their employees. If you live in the greater Milwaukee area do not hesitate to contact them and see what I mean.

We purchased a home who's past owners believed in only white! White walls, off-white carpet and white window dressings but beautiful oak wood throughout! I called Jerry after a referral from a friend. We both have VERY picky husbands when it comes to interior painting. Jerry came to give an estimate and great painting advice then directed us to our favorite paint store, Sherwin- Williams and a wonderful interior color specialist, whose services were free with a paint purchase. When painting day came, Jerry and his crew treated our home like it was their own. When they completed, we had beautiful colors and not a bit of paint anywhere but on the walls. Not a drop on our off-white carpet or oak wood! The cost was very reasonable for 4 big rooms and 3 hallways and was completed in 2 days. We will be welcoming him back when we complete remodeling our two baths and they need his painting TLC!

I had severe heavy traffic area and tea stains on my white carpeting in my house. TopKleen was able to make them look like brand new again in a very short amount of time. Their service is fast, good and professional. Their work was so good I even had them clean the carpeting at my business as well. I would recommend that if you are looking for a great deal with excellent quality, then you must contact TopKleen for your carpet cleaning needs.

Precious was professional and kind. She went above what I expected. I reached out to her for move out cleaning and she cleaned it better than it was when I moved in. She was timely and efficient. The cleaning products she used left a wonderful smell in my apartment. I almost didn't want to let it go. She removed stains that were stubborn and stuck on for years. I am highly thankful for her effort and I will be recommending her to family and friends. Missed Details gets the job done!

E&M Carpet Cleaning provided me with outstanding carpet cleaning services. Prices were unbeatable, especially for the quality of work. I have 4 kids that stained my carpets up pretty bad over the summer (dirt stains, juice spills, marker etc.) Not only were all of the stains removed but my home smelled amazing when they were done. Eric and Mark were very professional and finished quicker than I expected. I have nothing but good things to say about their services. If you need your carpets cleaned I definitely would recommend E&M Carpet Cleaning.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to carpet a bedroom?

If you’re building a new home, remodeling, or ready for new carpet in your bedroom, you’ll want to know carpet installation costs. Here are the factors that affect the cost of your new bedroom carpet:

      • Installation cost per square yard: From under $2 to over $6. Carpet companies have a labor cost per square foot for installing your new carpet. Depending on where you live in the country, that rate can vary greatly. This rate does not include the cost of the carpet.
      • Type of carpet: from $1 per square foot to $20 or more per square foot. The fibers that make up your carpet will have a direct effect on cost. As an example, specialty wool carpets may start at about $10 per square foot, while a manufactured fiber like nylon may be about $2 per square foot.
      • Removal of old carpet: from $1 to $4 per square yard. Old carpet is labor-intensive to remove and also costs money to dispose of or recycle. The cost to remove carpet will depend on how much carpet you need removed and whether your installation pros offer a discounted rate for installing your new carpet at the same time.
      • Subfloor repair: from $40 to $70 per hour (plus materials cost). If the flooring underneath your old carpet is damaged, it must be repaired before the new carpet is installed. Many carpet pros can offer this service, or you can hire a handyman to handle the job.
      • Type of carpet pad: $1 per square yard and up, depending on the thickness. The cost to install carpet pad is typically included with the labor cost per yard of installing the carpet itself.

How much is the cheapest carpet?

If you’re looking to reduce carpet installation costs, there are several ways to save. Start by considering your carpeting needs. Manufactured materials such as polyester and nylon will be cheaper than natural fibers such as wool. From big box retailers, starting prices for olefin-based carpet are approximately 50 cents per square foot — making the cost under $5 per square yard. Indoor carpets made with olefin fibers are typically the least expensive on the market. Keep in mind that olefin fibers are not as soft on bare feet as other fibers, so are often used in areas like basements, playrooms or indoor patios. Nylon and polyester are good options to reduce carpet installation costs while still creating a cozy feel. The face weight, fiber construction and density of a carpet all affect the cost per square foot. The cheapest nylon or polyester carpets can start at just under $2 per square foot, making them about $18 per square yard. Lower-cost carpet tends to wear out more quickly and show stains more easily, so avoid light colors and vacuum regularly to keep the fibers clear of dirt that might age it too quickly.
