After my son was bullied by 6 boys, I decided it was time to seek self defense classes. At first visit to ATF&MA, it was an intense scene of 15-20 people doing stick fighting drills. Seeing this and also being a fan of Bruce Lee, I knew we were in the right place. We were initially there for my son but I knew immediately that this was also something I wanted to do. Coming off a 2 year couch potato session, we were immediately partaking in physical conditioning in addition to learning self defense techniques of Jeet Kune Do. Within a few weeks I was no longer feeling like I was going to die during the physical workouts and was actually more energetic, confident and mentally clear from the workouts, as was my son. Elliott is an exceptional trainer. He takes the time to explain and is patient in going over moves as many times as it takes until it sinks in. All of the classmates are fun and friendly and supporting of each other whether one is a beginner or an advanced participant. The training is a blast and is one of the best things I've ever done. I'm happy for the positive, energetic, and motivating atmosphere and environment. In addition to the above, Elliott is also a motivating and inspiring speaker in sharing relevant life events and also provides videos of each lesson for practice outside of class. I would recommend this training to anyone.

I have trained with William Stedman, and found him to be a very talented, and dedicated self defense instructor. We have jointly hosted self defense seminars and have witnessed his compassion to empowering people with real world self defense instruction. I would recommend his seminar's to anyone. In addition to self defense skills it will equip you with awareness, verbalization, and deescalation strategies. The training will educate you with a preparedness mindset in the event you encounter the unavoidable.

The approach I take in teaching self-defense is unique because I do not teach one style or one way, but rather, I take the best from various martial arts and fit them to the individual's strengths and weaknesses. I break it down in such a way that kids can even understand it, and I put them through real-life simulated scenarios to raise confidence in skill against the dangers of reality. The classes are separated by levels which are Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and Master. Each level builds on the premise of the previous level, and there are graduation benefits to those that pass the test to move up in training. In the end, what takes years for martial arts to teach you in the line of defending yourself, you can learn here in months. A part of this training is fitness so that you are physically capable of performing the techniques required with the most optimal result. The last thing a person wants is to be out of breath while they are fighting for their life. Skill can take you far, but physicality combined with skill can guarantee reassurance of your ability to defend yourself in any scenario.
