Tom was knowledgeable and professional. We had a couple scheduling quirks and he was extremely accommodating. It was very worthwhile to have my son touch base with a mathtutor once a week to tackle confusing concepts.

Tom has been an AMAZING help to our daughter. Although a strong student, she wasn't connecting with the style of her Pre-Calc I & II teacher; as a result, she began the semester with quiz scores ranging from 40-60%. Tom swept in to save the day! Through his patient ways and clear explanations, our daughter's grade immediately improved. She is now consistently scoring 90% and above on quizzes and tests. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically, I charge $40/hr. The first session, which is free, is a meet-and-greet, usually in a coffee shop, where we figure out if we can work together, and set up a schedule.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I strive to understand how the student learns best. Then, I use that knowledge to teach the student in a way that will make the most sense for him or her. I like to make the tutoring sessions enjoyable, because I find the student tends to retain the learned information better if the stress of learning is reduced.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutoring experience that goes back to my days at college, helping fellow students with their calculus and trigonometry classes. I am an electrical engineer by training and vocation, and use a variety of math every day in my job.
