FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My younger sister needed senior pictures taken and my parents couldn't afford to take her anywhere. I took out my basic digital camera, and went to work. After she took her pictures to school, two of her friends wanted to hire me for theirs! I figured I was on to something, and set out to learn and grow as much as I could.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Basic portraits rank the highest (Families, children, and senior pictures) After that would likely be a tie between maternity/newborn and wedding/event photography. Model portfolios would be next on the list.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Go with your gut. You have to be comfortable with the photographer you choose. The best part of my job is the relationships I build. I love that in several instances, I was hired to shoot a wedding, and have since been there to photograph as the couple grows together and raises a family. Photographers shouldn't just take pictures, they should be capturing your memories, and you need to make sure whoever you are trusting with that task is someone you like on a personal level.
