- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in former Management roles involving assembly of furniture, grills, gazebos, umbrellas, cantilevers, displays, cabinets, gas fire pits, IKEA brand items, and more. It was my job to make sure all items were correctly built and functioned as intended before delivery. Repairs and painting/touch ups were also apart of my job.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was responsible for assembling the majority of grills, furniture, gazebos, repairs, etc. for a high end retail store for 5+ years. I educated myself by communicating directly with the companies we would have in stock. I learned troubleshooting, repairs, painting, and prevention towards the elements from some of the top patio furniture brands. There are always options to repair furniture.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A higher priced service is not a ripoff. They know their value and priced their service accordingly. I have had to disassemble furniture and start over because a customer chose the cheaper service and they did not assemble correctly.
