I think every photographer has a mentor or someone that they admire and respect and their work reflects that. Maybe subtle but I am influenced by many photographers. Before studying photography in college I had discovered a photographer who worked in a style that I admired and respected. Herb Ritts had taken the fashion industry by storm and brought a Fine Art element to the overly saturated commercial market. His approach to fashion brought a sophisticated and elevated style that has not been seen in decades. In my view....He is the best in the industry! It has to be working with people! Having an outgoing personality and the ability to work well with everyone is huge in this line of work. It is a highly social work environment and keeping that energy level high creates a fun, enjoyable and productive assignment. To call this work? Well, it is, but it is what I love to do and the work and the experience shows.
