Wolfe Construction is absolutely a first rate contractor. Neil Wolfe is the kind of contractor that is becoming very difficult to find in this world of "cheapest price gets the job."
If you are doing work on your home, a home you plan to keep, the investment in Neil is a very wise. Here's why:
Neil does all of the work or personally oversees all of the work himself. What you don't get is some clean cut college kid doing your bid and taking your deposit only to find illiterate refugees from Home Depot parking lot showing up to do your work. Believe me when I say it, with many other companies you wont know whether to open the door when your crew shows up or call 911.
Neil also knows the difference between straight and true lumber and the cast offs that supply houses dump on beginner contractors. Wolfe will send it back. They know it and don't pull that stuff on him. That goes for all buildings materials and finishes.
Neil participated in a $1.5 million restoration of a water damaged Old Town Alexandria condo building I managed. Of the four contractors brought in, Wolfe was clearly the best.
He finished on time, on budget, with no surprises. Upon completion he had by far the shortest punch list of extremely minor items. (I can be a jerk). He didn't complain and knocked them out very quickly.
I could not recommend Wolfe Construction and Neil Wolfe more highly. Consider yourself lucky if you get him. Expect to wait 3-4 months for large jobs. You'll be very happy you did.

Wolfe Construction did a wonderful job of remodeling my kitchen and two bathrooms, as well as several other jobs such as molding, new closets, etc. Neil Wolfe submitted bids with specific job descriptions and estimates prior to beginning work, and kept to them. Based on his wide-ranging experience, he was able to provide design and material quality inputs that were invaluable in making decisions throughout the process, but was not overbearing. I have recommended him to several friends, and would use him again if I had more remodeling work to do.

Neil remodeled our master bathroom and did an excellent job. He listened to us, made good suggestions, kept within our budget, and completed the project on time. We love it and everyone who's seen it has been extremely complimentary. I would definitely recommend Neil for any remodeling or construction projects.
