FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For hourly jobs, my rate is typically $75 for the first hour and then $50 for each additional hour. Other jobs will be a flat fee on a per job basis.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For most jobs an email describing what the customer needs done will suffice but pictures for repairs are always helpful. Occasionally I will need to visit the job first but that is rare.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
One of my first jobs was working for a mom and pop construction company that exposed me to just about all facets of carpentry. Eventually I ended up building rockets and satellites where I learned just about every type of fabrication including machine work, welding, plumbing and electrical. So you can say that your handyman was a rocket scientist!
