FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing depends on the difficulty and time spent on the project. Checking resumes and cover letters will be about $6 an hour. Essays will be between $7 - $12 per hour depending on length and complexity of the material. Translations are charged on a per word basis. My rates are $0.05- $0.9 per word, again, depending on the complexity of the document, so a 200-word document would cost anywhere from $10 - $18 to translate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have made a career out of studying language. I received my BA in Spanish Language and a Translation Certification from University of Texas at Arlington. My years of experience in editing have proven to be a solid foundation for all the projects I set out to do.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been translating and editing for people for what feels like a lifetime. At school and at home, people always came to me for help checking their drafts. I work in a healthcare-related field, so editing and translating has also come in handy on a daily basis. Eventually, I recognized it was a strong skill set and decided use it to help others with the same needs.
