Introduction: With a master's degree in both documentary film and social work, I've devoted my career to working with people. I love capturing and sharing people's stories in both still and moving images.
I have extensive experience in portrait photography as well as event photography. Several years ago, I created a book of portraits and show shots from a circus group in Cambodia, "Putho!". I have also worked extensively with non-profits such as Campaign for Southern Equality and Kybele, Inc. on videos showcasing their work.

Kathi Barnhill, the pictures you took at our wedding are just beautiful. I love almost every single one of the photos individually, and, together, they bring back a real sense of the celebration--the love and support of our friends and family, our joy in marrying, and the vivid colors on that amazing summer day. You managed to catch powerful moment after moment, without me even seeing that you were taking photos. I'm very camera shy, so, a photographer I'm not aware of is a great thing! Kathi is especially talented at capturing authenticity. In a recent headshot test shoot, my discomfort around being shot without makeup for the first time dissolved as our conversation unfolded and she got me talking about a writing project I was excited about. She has a knack for making you feel comfortable and conversational to the point where you hardly realize (or care) that there's a camera pointed at you.
