I placed my computer repair project request for my Mac Pro on Thumbtack at about 2:30 PM this afternoon. After placing the listing with Thumbtack, I decided to also check the reviews online of possible companies.
After doing my research, I found a company I knew nothing about but that had the best reviews of any other Mac repair facility: Experimac. Because of the superb reviews, I called Experimac and discussed the problem. I told them I needed a quick turnaround. They told me to come in, they would check the Mac Pro, and would determine what would be required as well as the cost.
I decided to drive over to the Experimac's location.
To cut to the chase, within two hours, Experimac had fixed the problem. I requested the installation of a new hard drive and they additionally upgraded my operating system. They have probably added a few more years of operational life to my six year old Mac because they upgraded to the latest version of OS/X - El Capitan - which I had been told previously by other vendors could not be installed on a Mac as old as mine. Well, El Capitan is running like a well-oiled Lamborghini at this point after working with my "obsolete" Mac for the past four hours.
While I was there, I decided to also have Experimac fix my iPhone, which has been unreliable due to a power problem that caused it to turn off even though it would show more than enough battery power. Even though the original vendor had told me it could not be repaired, Experimac replaced the battery and so far I haven't seen a recurrence of the power problem.
I can't say enough great things about Experimac. They have a cohesive team of knowledgeable and skilled people, their customer service is top-notch, their turn-around time was amazing for both the computer and the phone, and their prices are very competitive.
Now, this is the clincher. Completely by coincidence and without my knowledge when I initially walked into Experimac's store, Kasia from Experimac had responded to my Thumbtack request while I was driving to their store. I had no idea that she had responded to my Thumbtack project request until about 45 minutes after I had gotten to the store. And as I write this feedback at 8:45 PM this evening, it turns out that Experimac has been the only company that responded to my Thumbtack request. When I read her response, it further boosted my confidence that I had selected the right company to do the repair work even though I had found Experimac through my own separate online search.
I recommend Experimac in West Asheville whole-heartedly. I know each person's experience is unique based upon their own particular problem but based upon my experience with Experimac concerning this afternoon's repair work, I will definitely be using them in the future. You can't go wrong.

They were unable to help me with my problem and didn't seem to know any more the I did and I only know the basics. One saving grace, they didn't charge me but that's because they spent less than 5 minutes with me.
