If I could give Max 10 stars, I would. There are many talented photographers in Western NC, but finding someone as responsive, easy to work with and dedicated to the craft as Max is incredibly rare. I have worked with him as an art director at numerous on-location shoots for several clients over the last three years. He has never failed to be prompt and professional, and he comes to every shoot well-prepared, with a range of quality equipment in tow. He consistently delivers stunning photography of even mundane seeming subjects and is skilled at keying into a brand's tone. During portraits, his patience and skill at communicating make even the least experienced models feel comfortable and relaxed while ensuring several flattering shots from which to choose. Max is easy to work with, has a keen eye for detail, high personal standards, and an excellent turnaround time. I always look forward to working with him, and I recommend him without reservation for all of your photography needs.

We were looking for a low-key photographer for our Asheville wedding: no awkward poses, no glamour shots, no paparazzi. Although we’re sure Max is excellent at these too, he more than delivered on what we wanted. He took time to scope out our outdoor location in advance so he knew where all the best shots would be and to advise us on lighting (i.e. direction of the sun) for our ceremony. He was unobtrusive during the day itself— some of our guests didn’t even realize we had a photographer— but captured so many intimate beautiful moments that we didn’t even know had happened until we saw the photos. He managed to sneak us away for some couple shots during golden hour, but never made us feel like we were missing our own wedding to take pictures. We received edited photos very quickly afterwards and sifting through them was like reliving the entire day. Max was an absolute joy to work with and did incredible work: there were so many amazing photos we had a hard time choosing favorites for our book. We’re honored that he photographed our wedding and couldn’t recommend him more highly!

Max's beautiful wedding photography displays his ability to blend seamlessly into the event and capture the joyful moments like a small boy beaming with pride because he has an important job to do. And the poignant moments like a Mom's mixed emotions at "losing" her daughter. And the real life moments like rain or a grasshopper on a delicate lace veil.
