Introduction: Humble Harvest was incorporated by me, Max Levitt, an entrepreneur with over 15 years of professional experience in various fields relating to landscaping and gardening. The company can be identified as having two separate core businesses; traditional landscaping services and the installation and maintenance of productive fruit and vegetable gardens.
Traditional landscaping can be divided into maintenance and installation. Humble Harvest focuses on installation, although we are beginning to offer maintenance due to popular demand. Installation includes planting all types of functional and ornamental plants, installing structures such as retaining walls, walkways, irrigation systems, patios, sod, et al, and changing the gradient of soil or other medium in order to affect drainage. Humble Harvest specializes in providing the look and feel of elegant Southern landscaping by using plants, planting patterns, and hardscape arrangement considered Southern.
We provide these services using methods that are more ecologically responsible than most competitors. Fertilization, evaporation control, hydration, plant procurement, pest control, and weed control all involve sustainable methodology. The implementation of these practices provide health and cost benefits for the immediate client, as well as the community. Very little petroleum based fertilizer is used, no industrial pesticides are used, and water usage is minimized.
Apart from traditional landscaping, the company focuses on the installation and maintenance of small gardens with a focus on consumables. Fruit trees, vegetables, and beneficial flowering species are the primary offerings, which come as part of a package offered. Clients purchase the container of their choice, and pick which types of flowers and produce they prefer. Humble Harvest installs the container, soil, and seedlings. All installations are sold with the option of a maintenance contract, and can be used for cultivation year round.
I am well suited to hands-on work, and have found that I am happiest when I am improving the rest of the community in some way. I love what I do, and I am helping connect people to the world outside their dwelling. I get especially excited when working with edible plants, and have had a wonderful time helping others grow their own produce and fruit. In summation, I love my job!
