FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate for sewing classes is $25/hour with a 2 hour minimum. I offer a crash course in sewing for $75 for 4 hours. My custom design pricing varies anywhere from $150 and up, depending on project (I require payment in full at the beginning of the project).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with the customer primarily to discuss their ideas about a custom design. We discuss fabric options by texture, color and price range. Once a deposit has been made, I take their measurements and begin on sourcing fabric (to ensure the correct fabric and amount is purchased, I always source the fabric, however, the customer is free to come along). Once the customer approves of the fabric, I begin with a preliminary design. I fit the customer to make any changes and once we're set, I complete the garment and provide a final fitting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Masters in Fashion Design from Drexel University (2015). I have sewn for over 20 years. I have worked in design studios in Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia and London. I have taught sewing to ages 8-Adult for the Fulton County Arts Council for 2 years.
