The job was a major remodel of a 2.5 million soft contemporary in Laguna Beach, California. Cindy has an innate ability to visualize a space in new ways that others hadn't contemplated. Her selection of materials and colors and accents complimented the environment and the structure in a subtle but sophisticated way. We moved the kitchen and opened up the entry to an expansive ocean view originally blocked by a kitchen wall. The materials and color pallets were soft contemporary including custom color integrated polished cement floors with stainless 5' by 5' expansion joints, an Italian imported rift quarter sawn white oak kitchen cabinetry with contemporary Italian hardware and sand blasted glass upper cabinet doors, a back-painted glass backsplash wall with all Gaggenau appliances, custom stainless steel countertops with a 5" reveal made in Italy with a seamless double sink, an in-counter kitchen machine by Gaggenau; all European Philppe Stark toiletry (with in-wall tanks); Hansgrohe faucets made in Germany, built in cabinetry made from unique sustainable reconstituted wood (with glass panes) and spot lighting, color impregnated and waterproofed allowing us to use the product for wet countertops and floating bar-top as well. Portuguese limestone slab imported and used to clad the bar and to tie it into the matching 12 x 24 tiles used throughout the bathrooms (wall to wall). Stainless steel countertop sink bowls were installed on waterproof reconstituted wood countertops with 12" vertical chrome spouts imported from Germany. The house was a showpiece and was the subject of an extensive photo shoot paid for by Bosch Seimens Home Appliances for publication and advertisements for their Gaggenau brand. The home was featured in several design publications and on the cover of Space magazine.
