FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Methods of Payment I accept cash, check, or major debit/ credit cards, and HSA (health savings account) cards. Insurance/ Private Payment Private payment provides you with the benefits of confidentiality, which I value highly. As an out-of-network provider, I do not bill insurance companies directly but I am happy to provide you with monthly receipts that you can submit for reimbursement. Please ask your insurance company about their out-of-network benefits towards mental health counseling. It may also be important to ask about your deductible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a 15-minute free phone consultation so we can see if we're a good fit for each other. I take time to listen to the client's issue and ensure that they feel affirmed and understood. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is my priority. Together, we assess the problem, define measurable goals, and build a therapeutic plan together. The plan has to suit the client's values, beliefs, and lifestyle needs. Next, we get right to work, measure change, and adjust as we make progress.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I obtained my Master's of Arts in Counseling, and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Texas. I describe my modality as systemic, culturally affirming, relational, and strength-based. I draw from empirically-supported modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), and am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy* by ICEEFT.
