Jonathan has always been extremely professional when doing my makeup, but he balances that with an enthusiastic personality and a gift for connecting with people. He is the entire package!

I’ve worked with Jonathan with several photo and video shoots over the last three years, and there are several reasons I keep inviting him back to the sets. He’s punctual, friendly with staff and models, a makeup and skincare expert, always willing to help beyond his job duties, and attentive. He is the model by which other cosmetic artists should mold themselves after.
JLM Cosmetic Artistry's reply
Thank you Daniel, I couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with than you and your team. The honor is truly mine.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My goal in every make over is to have a unique, fun and educational environment which allows for open communication so that our goals and interpretations of them are aligned. Resulting in stunning beauty and a glamorous appeal.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I started with Nars Cosmetics and was trained by 5 national artist. I was taught that you cannot use an extension of your hand (the makeup brush) before understanding the feel and movement of the product. Once I was allowed to use makeup brushes for application, I learned the basics of pigment structure and movement. My next position with Lancome had 5 families of skincare which allowed me to further individualize each skin type. This gave me a greater understanding of why we use certain products in a particular order and how the use of these products (to address individual concerns) can have amazing results when done properly. When I started as the Regional Trainer for Ren Skincare I simultaneously also began work with Yves Saint Laurent Beauty as a regional makeup artist. The two companies would teach me to combine all that I had learned, thus creating the basis for the process I use today.
