- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a 10% discount for purchasing 5 or more lessons at a time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I recommend a 20-minute free first session to talk about your experiences so far with language or finances, your goals, and your preferred meeting time. Then we can take our lessons from there, meeting according to your schedule.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Masters Degree in Teaching from Stanford University, endorsed for Mandarin and English, and two BA's (Chinese and English) from the University of Chicago. I am a full time high school Mandarin teacher and have worked with hundreds of students at school and over the years through tutoring. I went to middle school in Dalian, China for two years when I was young, so I learned Mandarin with no accent. I have returned to China many times for travel, research, and language training and have lived in China for about 4 years total. In 2016, I attended a Fulbright training program for Chinese language teachers in Beijing, and I continue to attend language teacher training workshops quarterly. I started in the financial coaching world reading books, taking free online courses and listening to podcasts. Through coaching friends and acquaintances, I have developed a proven track record of helping clients get organized, set goals, and make progress towards improving their financial wellness.
