FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The cost to proofread or edit a document is determined by the length of the document and the amount of editing required. For example: Basic proofreading - finding and eliminating spelling and grammatical errors is $3.00 per page with a page being estimated at 250 words. There is a $10 minimum cost for proofreading any document. Pricing would increase from there relative to the depth of editing required.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's generally a pretty brief and simple process. We discuss the scope of the project, typically via email, and agree to a price and approximate turnaround time. The customer sends me the document, I edit it, and return it. If there are any questions or additional assistance required and it falls within the original agreed upon work, I'm happy to make additional edits. If the customer would like other types of editing applied to the project, we can discuss the options for making that happen, as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a liberal arts degree. I have written articles for a local magazine and posts for blogs. I am a writer myself, so I appreciate the tremendous effort that goes into the craft. I also understand how, as a writer, I can be so close to the work that it becomes difficult to see the errors. I love taking another writer's effort and polishing it.
