I hosted a party for 15 people for my Dad’s 90th B-Day and was nervous about getting everything together, but one phone call to Cheryl changed all that. She came up with a fabulous menu, great table setting ideas and even brought some of her own props for the table. From beginning to end starting from her first reply to her leaving our place on the night of our function Chef Cheryl was fantastic, friendly, professional, helpful, accomadating, responsive everything we could have asked for and more we traveled from Ireland to Florida for my husbands 40th birthday and I wanted something special for that evening with our family and she truly went above and beyond for us she was so friendly and professional and most importantly her food was AMAZING...... My husband and I got my in-laws a Christmas gift certificate for a dinner prepared by Cheryl in their home. They are both well traveled and accustomed to fine dining, so we read her reviews closely, and then corresponded with Cheryl several times before we made the purchase. I knew my in-laws would especially appreciate someone who could prepare Indian and South African cuisine. Cheryl worked with them to choose just the right menu, including an appetizer of tandoori shrimp with roasted garlic raita dipping sauce and papadoms with mint, spicy tomato and tamarind chutneys; a main course of lamb madras with bombay potatoes, spiced rice, carrot sambal, cucumber raita and peach chutney and roti, both original and spicy, and a garlic naan bread with various sauces; and an orange and cardamon creme brulee for dessert. There were three couples for the dinner and they enjoyed it SO much that they messaged us before they went bed that night, RAVING about how wonderful it was. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I work within the budget of my client. I do require a 50% deposit and balance on the day.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I will submit a quote that fits my clients requirements. I then will be in contact via phone call or email and work on a menu plan that fits the occasion. I work within the clients budget and make sure I fulfill all requirements. I am available by cell phone for any contact necessary.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I completed a 4 year culinary arts program. I also worked as a sous chef at a culinary school. Trained from a young age with a family member that was a chef on the prestigious Blue Train in South Africa catering to the Prime Minister at the time. I come from a family of chefs so food training has been part of my life growing up. I worked for a Safari Tour Group in South Africa catering all meals to the international guests.
