FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing typically starts at $250 for a one-hour session, $600 for a two-hour family/newborn session, and $1,500 for destinations. Of course, for the right project or interesting experience I'll adjust my pricing accordingly!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before I begin any project, I listen to my clients. What sort of photos would they like for me to take? Are there specific images or moments they want me to capture? We then discuss the length of a session. A headshot, for example, would most likely be a one-hour session, while a newborn or family session would take three hours. There are a variety of options for weddings, as well as destination events (family vacations, nonprofit trips, etc.). During sessions, I capture as many candid shots as possible, and when I stage photos, am always polite and ask for as much client feedback as possible. I believe that when my clients are comfortable and happy, it shines through in their photos! When working with young children and babies, I encourage them to take multiple breaks for snacks, naps, and feedings!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to Columbia University for Art History, and have worked for 20 years as a writer and photographer. I also am the Founder/Managing Editor of Advice Project Media, which offers multimedia services for youth around the world, and have taken a variety of photography and photo curatorial projects with nonprofits.
