FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I don't charge fees of any kind. My hourly is charged to the nearest half hour and only applies even I'm on the job working. I offer discounts for referrals and often for repeat clients as well. My hourly includes minor materials (e.g. tape, putty, lubricant) and everything else except job specific materials. (e.g. doors, faucet's, building supplies)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I gather all the project details, pictures, and location to make sure I'm a good fit for their project. If it's under $500 I will usually provide a project estimate and start. I'd it's over $500 or requires an in person estimate I will schedule a time to assess the work then provide a written copy of the 12 month guarantee that applies to all my work and contact before starting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There's no real formal trade school for being a handyman, it's too broad and varied. You just have to get out there and do it. If it's something I haven't encountered before I research, usually 3 different ways, plan each stage and often test. A lot of tools, experience and patience and I've yet to run into the project that couldn't be handled.
