FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First and foremost is to discover what exactly you, the customer, needs. If you have a vision, we want you to communicate it to us. If you don't, we want to come alongside and help you develop it. Second, but almost equally important, we work on scheduling your shoot date(s) and your due date with you. We then start working through the details for your shoot such as wardrobe, permissions, and everything that will ensure that your project will move smoothly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our team has cumulative experience in photography greater than 40 years and in videography greater than 50 years. We are constantly doing continuing education training on our equipment, our software, and our processes to keep our skills and knowledge sharp.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
All of the members on our team started into imaging because of their passion for it. The founder of ShutteRelease began working with photography over 30 years ago and gravitated to videography and filmmaking. His daughter grew up with a camera in her hand and, although she works in another field during the day, she finds that working on event photography makes her "come alive" in a way nothing else does. His wife has a passion for one thing, capturing sound as perfectly as possible. This is similar to the back stories of all of our contractors. Many of us are involved in independent ("indie") film production which feeds our passion for the work and hones our skills.
