Introduction: Porter Square Handyman is simply me, Ed miller. I repair, maintain, install and create throughout Cambridge, MA and beyond. Reliability is the cornerstone of what I try to provide. While my skill-set is strong and varied, I think that being easy to work with and dependable are just as important. Whether your need is super small or more involved, I can help. What I like most about my line of work is that there are always new things to learn. As a handyman and woodworker there are so many skills to be picked-up, and improved upon in order to be a great craftsman--I really enjoy the process.

Ed has worked with us on two different living spaces. When we lived in a small condo he helped me to convert our small sunroom into a home office. And, in the home we now own, he helped us to figure out how to design our living room so that it felt warm and inviting. On both occasions, Ed listened to what we wanted for the space, offered suggestions on layout, and then made suggestions on affordable ways to turn the space into what we wanted. He has also done some basic handyman work for us such as repairing our jammed garbage disposal which I thought we would need to replace!

I hired Ed Miller, the Porter Square Handyman, to repair a sliding door between our kitchen and deck. He understood the problem right away and did a beautiful job. The door now slides easily, and it also looks like new again. Ed's pricing was very reasonable, he was very clear about what he was going to do and extremely nice to work with. I will hire him again for all of my handyman needs, including very soon to measure and install blinds for my bedroom, and highly recommend him.

Converting basement to useable space. Excellent attention to detail, great ideas and suggestions, thoughtful approach to the projects. But best of all, he listens carefully and makes sure to understand exactly what you have in mind.

We asked Eddie to hang our new window shades and he did so gracefully and perfectly and very quickly. He also re-hung a fragile piece of stained glass without any problem. We plan to employ him in the future for several other jobs around our house.

What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with homeowners, tenants and business owners. My main interest is in forming lasting relationships with great clients. Of course, I will do one-off jobs. But my hope is that clients will come to see me as a valuable and trustworthy resource and keep my number handy.
