I've been standing up in front of people since I was a child prodigy & found to be quite articulate at a young age. But I credit my father with that. He taught me to think before I speak & cultivate a good vocabulary. My mom taught me diction. In grade school I studied public speaking. In college I had to make presentations. All of this prepared me for a business career with Fortune 500 companies. Eventually as a business analyst for AT&T, I discovered that my flair for presentations was in demand by executives and other professionals who desired to advance in their careers or feel more relaxed in social situations.
Business solutions, whether executive or not, require focus, thinking outside the box, confidence, a knowledge of leading edge options, and the support to stay the course while implementing your plan. Then, you need frequent reviews to gauge progress. People skills should go without saying, yet, it's people skills which can often stymie one's efforts. So, step back, evaluate your self-mastery, get your finances in order, learn the communication & interpersonal skills for successful team building, guard your resources, get creative, pace yourself, have intervals of down time to stay fresh, stay current with your industry and any current events which will impact it, and you'll find your way to solid footing.
