What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually speak to my client before agreeing to do anything.
It is therefore important to either call me or provide an email address and or telephone number so that we can establish exactly what you want.
Once we have chatted I'll submit a quote which in theory should be what you are looking for.
Once we have agreed the arrangement ill confirm everything in writing.
Usually by email. A contract would be sent and authorized by both parties.
As the date for the event gets closer we will finalize the facilities at the location to ensure that the technology is in place that may be require.
I'll usually request the number of delegates likely to be in attendance so that any literature can be produced and accounted for in my fee.
If a fixed fee has been arranged then an invoice will be sent and payment is expected before the service is offered.
If the fee is based on performance it will be paid on the day of the performance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Approximately 25 years ago I was introduced to Mindset training. I was a fairly successful business person and sales professional who had just been headhunted from the Uk to live in the USA.
Like many individuals I had my belief system and my comfort zones in place, and the idea that thinking in a different way would attract everything i wanted to me seemed a little far fetched.
On examination I discovered that everything I had in my life was as a direct result of the thoughts I had had to that point. It became obvious that if I wanted to alter things I really had to program my self to achieve them. Once I had got the mud off things accelerated and life dramatically improved.
I started sharing this information with many of my friends and colleagues who also found the same results.. That's how MIND CHANGE INTERNATIONAL was born.
The other fact that had become obvious, was that I had heard dozens of motivational speakers and almost without exception the brilliant message that they "wowed" us with soon lost its sparkle. Most of my fellow directors and staff soon returned to their old ways after a fairly short period of time.

However, I also offer every customer the option of paying what they consider is a fair price for the value they receive. We agree a minimum and a maximum, and at the end of the course or presentation they tell me what they want to pay.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
As mentioned above Mind Change was born out of own experiences and learning from a similar course that was taught to me.
It was actually a British course which whilst being amazingly successful had not been introduced to the USA.
IT JUST DIDN'T SUIT THE AMERICAN MARKET...

I'm an ex professional soccer player and golfer, as well as a successful business person.
My experience has therefore led me to work with just about every type of person from these fields

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was recently invited to do a TED-X workshop in Virginia.
The timing could probably have been better as only a few weeks before the event I suffered a major personal catastrophe that would probably have sent most people over the edge.
Fortunately have the MIND CHANGE techniques to help me through the maze.
I had to speak to a large gathering of people who were all expecting wonderful tools to guide them through life.
The talk was entitled " What you think is what you get"
This is absolutely true as I had thought myself into my disaster and now had to think myself out of it.
Up until 2 days before the event I had been unable to get my head into the right place to construct the talk. Finally, using my own techniques I got it together and on the day produced a
presentation that received a standing ovation .

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The best advice I can give to my next potential employer is "look beyond the quote."
Many big agents and firms have the ability to get their quote in front of you due to their search engines and speed of response.
You often finish paying far more than you need to for people to provide you with no better experience than someone who has more ability and charges a lot less.
SO SPEND A LITTLE MORE TIME CHECKING WEBSITES FOR YOUR SELF AND CALLING PEOPLE WHO MIGHT SEEM INTERESTING.
Most of my work comes from people who spoke to me first before I even quoted them anything....
They either met me and liked what they heard or we spoke on the phone and they new instinctively I wasn't really interested in the money.
I WAS, HOWEVER, INTERESTED IN GIVING THEM A WORLD CLASS EXPERIENCE AND MAKING SURE THEY GOT SOMETHING WORTH HAVING, THAT BENEFITED THEM !
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Find out exactly what you believe you want to achieve.
Make sure the person is relevant to your business or goal.
Why accept someone who is just going to give a nice talk or presentation that makes you feel good for a few days.
Just because they have a book they want to promote doesnt mean they can change your business for the better.
Ask "what are the long lasting effects of who you are going to employ"
Expect more than you've had before.
