Introduction: My individual focused teaching style is a refreshing, chord-based approach and tailored specifically for students learning guitar or bass. We'll structure the things you already know and explore chords and melodies (soloing!) while getting the hang of rhythm and gaining confidence. The process and agency of musicianship is among the most therapeutic, uniting, and endlessly rewarding of human passtimes. I've been thrilled to be a part of this dynamic tradition since the summer of '78.......when I learned my first chord well enough to tell someone else about it :)

Bob is a natural as a teacher who makes learning the guitar and bass a fun, challenging and exciting experience. I've been taking lessons with him for nearly 3 years now and have made a huge amount of progress in my playing and my knowledge of music theory. He's quite simply the best music teacher I've ever had (and I've had quite a few!) and I can't recommend him highly enough. He's a thoroughly lovely guy who also happens to be a master guitar player and musician.

Bob is my favorite guitar teacher. Met at OTS and followed him to Classes On Clark. His blend of knowledge, both theory and practice, stands out above the rest. He is willing to help from beginners to experts (many times in the same room and at the same time) and is always striving to become a better teacher. He can cover all it all from Chet Atkins to Elvis Costello, KISS to Vandenberg. Rock on Bob.

Bob is a superstar music teacher I have been working with him for over 2 years both privately and in group classes He excels at breaking down a song and showing you multiple ways to play it both fingerpicking and flatpicking as well as putting it in different keys Bob also has an excellent grasp of music theory and knows how to explain it

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began playing guitar in '78, performing live in '86, and teaching music professionally in '94. I qualify as being "self taught" I suppose, but there have been a lot of incidental but key teachers along the way. I've explored a ton of styles independently and with countless colleagues in Dayton, Cincinnati, and Chicago over the last 40 years....and more excited about it today than ever!
