Introduction: About Mrs. Simeon Mrs. Simeon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders (towards Speech & Language Pathology) from San Diego State University. She also has a Master's of Science in Special Education from National University. She holds a Multi-subject credential, Education Specialist Credential, and Preliminary Administrative Credential. Background & Experience Mrs. Simeon has been in education for over 20 years. She began as a paraprofessional for the Speech & Language Program in San Diego Unified School District. She has also been a General Education teacher and a Special Day Class teacher for the South Bay Union School District for 8 years, and a Resource Specialist and with the Autism Coordinated Education Team Specialist for the Chula Vista Elementary School District. She is currently a Specialized Academic Instructor and a BTSA Support Provider to beginning teachers in the Chula Vista Elementary School District. Her training is extensive and she has a specialty working with English Language Learners and student students with Dyslexia. For children with Aspergers, Autism, and behavioral concerns, she utilizes social stories , Play Therapy, and Music Therapy. However, she is best known for her holistic approach to education, and will utilize any combination of these resources and strategies to best support her students. Mrs. Simeon's philosophy focuses is on the needs of the WHOLE child. Their health, social, and emotional well-being are a priority. She believes that every child with a disabilitiy can be college-bound.
