We have just started working with John regarding our one year old puppy. Each time he has come to our house, he is very attentive to our struggles with our dog. He never makes us feel rushed. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I find the issues the client is having with their dog and I focus on targeting the underlying cause of these behavior(s). Then, I place the client and their dog on a behavioral re-modification plan that bring clarity and open a line of communication between the client and dog. Then, I begin working with the dog using techniques that resolves the behavioral issues. Basic obedience is integrated within the program along with leash walking and socialization.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have worked with many clients to resolve their dog's behavioral issues. Mike Dixon who is a Behavioral Dog Trainer and owner of Tristate Canine Obedience certified me as a Behavioral Dog Trainer in 2013. I have years of experience working with training puppies to full blown aggression and separation anxiety. Also, I have taught many basic obedience classes and therapy dog classes. In the past year, I have been given many of Mike's service dog clients to work with so he can focus on working with aggression cases. I have also branched out and began building clients of my own. Mostly clients who have issues with aggression. I have had great success working with these clients and was told to check into this site to help more people in need. So, I am doing just that. I hope to work with you and your dog(s) to resolve any behaviors you are having difficulties with.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I began working with a Behavioral trainer about 6 years ago. He trained me and later certified me. I became his one and only employee and still work for him today as a Behavioral trainer. The company I work for is Called Tristate Canine Obedience and the owner is Mike Dixon. He has taught me all that I know over the past 6 years and now I service a handful of his service dog clients. I decided to try this site out when it was brought to my attention and I will see where it leads me.
