Introduction: Sharing my love for music with others brings great joy to my life. Watching students of any age and level of ability learn how to make beautiful music that they find pleasure and enjoyment from are my goals. Every student is special and unique so lessons are special and unique to that student. Many different styles of music are explored while students develop excellent piano techniques and experience the basics of music making. No matter a students age or level of ability, I am encouraging and always positive while setting reasonable expectations for practice at home (which is a requirement for sure:). Private lessons are a considerable investment for students and families, and I take that to heart knowing their trust has been placed with me to offer my very best to each and every student. Should students stay in my program for a short time or for many years, I wish for them to leave with a special place for music in their lives. What I enjoy most about teaching piano is being a special part of student's lives while sharing my love for music. Private lessons are a special opportunity to develop close personal relationships with students and families while creating a happy, trusting environment for learning and developing musically.

Our three daughters have taken lessons from Donna for the last 4 years, they started at the ages of 6, 8, and 10. Their progress has been fantastic! She not only gives great instruction but hosts several recitals a year, allowing them to play on a grand piano in front of an audience. This experience in front of an audience has greatly increased their self-confidence which has helped them not only in music but in school as well. In addition to recitals, they have played in non-competitive music festivals and will participate in a competition for the first time in March of 2017. Another important facet of Donna's instruction is music theory which is critical to their musical understanding and knowledge. Her specific expectations for each student differ according to their abilities, but she always expects practice and dedication and tailors her lessons to each student. My two oldest daughters have carried their love of music on to include learning Violin and Cello and are now participating in orchestras as part of the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association. Donna is a wonderful, loving, and caring teacher who has inspired my daughter's love and appreciation of music beyond what they hear on the radio.

I began lessons with Donna Caulfield when I was about six years old. I am nineteen now, currently attending college at CU Boulder studying music (piano). Donna not only taught me music theory and piano technique, but how to use those skills to produce something that reflects who I am and that I am proud of. These skills of expression are extremely important, and can be taught through music. Donna is a member of the Pikes Peak Music Teachers Association, and provides many performance opportunities for her students. Because of this, I learned how to stay calm and succeed under pressure, which is another important life skill. Because of her patience, confidence in me, and love of music, Donna taught me piano along with many skills I will use for the rest of my life. I am forever grateful for Donna, as a teacher and a friend.
