FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Currently I offer group training and private training sessions. Group Training Sessions (clients travel to me) are $102 for 6 one hour sessions. This type of training is typically for those who want their puppy or dog to gain proper socialization skills and learn the basic commands like Sit, Lie Down, Stay, Watch Me, Leave It, and Heel. Group Training classes are separated by age group. All shots must be up to date as well. Private Training is offered in two separate forms. Private Training Class One is a per session rate. The rate is $90 for 1 one and half hour session. This is for those who feel their dog does not require a lot of training but want to focus on one or two small issues such as teaching their dog how to be potty trained or not to chew on shoes. There is an additional mileage charge for clients outside of a 15 mile radius of zip code 80916. Private Training Class Two is a package deal. The price is $306 for 4 one and half hour sessions. This training package is designed for individuals who have stubborn dogs that require one on one training. A training plan is created based off the individual needs of each client. There is an additional mileage charge for travelling outside of 15 miles from zip code 80916.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I begin working with a potential client, I schedule a free consultation called a "Meet and Greet". A this meeting, I spend 30 minutes with the client and his or her canine companion(s). I listen to the client while they share their goals and concerns with me while also assessing the dog's behavior with my own eyes. I also give a brief description of my techniques during this meeting. If at the end of the 30 minute Meet and Greet the client and myself decide we want to work together, I collect payment and go home to create a customized training plan based off the notes I jotted down during the Meet and Greet.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I do not have any formal training per say, I have been working with animals of the canine sort since I was 5 years old when I acquired my first puppy. I taught him many basic commands and found that I enjoyed training dogs so much that I would spend hours of my day watching dog training shows on Animal Planet to learn different techniques. I also read many books to learn about canine behavior and though processes. When I turned 18, I started fostering dogs for Animal Care Services in San Antonio, TX. My first foster dog was a Catahoula Leopard Hound who was dog aggressive. His name was Cooper. I worked with Cooper for about a month and afterwards he was adopted out to a home with another dog. Since then, I have always enjoyed working with the extremely difficult and bullheaded dogs that most trainers refuse to work with.
