FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is competitive and transparent. We're ready to work hard for you on your projects: ***Handyperson: 8 hours: $375 Small projects start at $55/hr with a 3-hour minimum to knock on your door ready with tools on our back in case you just need a TV mounted, IKEA furniture assembled, or shelves hung in three hours or less. ***Professional Organizing/Design- -DIY Organizing/Design Consulting Plan: flat fee $150 -Hourly: $75/hr -Lead Organizer/Designer (3-hour minimum) * Professional Organizing/Design assistants available to speed up your project *Packing pricing available for large projects Today’s retail market has changed dramatically and we’re just not comfortable adhering to “industry standards” and marking up our client’s products or pledging any sort of allegiance with vendors or brands. We often receive trade discounts on home furnishings and we will always pass those design savings on to you. And sometimes the lowest price is the retail price. No matter the situation, we work hard to source quality furnishings at the lowest price. We work on an hourly basis so that you only pay for the time we spend on you and your space. Easy peasy. Hourly includes design, research, shopping, tracking, inspecting, and returning any items we source on your behalf. Unlimited email correspondence is, of course, essential and complimentary.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1.)It all starts with a simple “Hello”. Then, tell us what you’re imagining for your home or office. We’ll listen, jot down your concerns, hopes, and dreams, and decide whether a in-home consultation or Skype/Facetime home tour is the way to kick off our long-lasting relationship. 2.) Once we’re all on the same page imagining your dream space, expect to get a detailed proposal. Once your proposal turns in to a contract get ready to have some fun! Our excitement to take a space from ‘before’ to ‘after’ is contagious. We communicate in a variety of ways; so tell us which works best for you and it's whichever you prefer! -If you’re comfortable with technology, we love using Pinterest as our living idea board. -We believe in convenient real-time check-ins via Skype or FaceTime in an effort to save you time and money. We’ll work hard to make sure you know what your space is shaping up to look like. -One of our client’s favorite tools we use is a live, cloud-based spreadsheet that keeps you up-to-date on where your budget stands. We’ll share product links so you can see how much that amazing chesterfield leather couch costs and brag to your friends that your living room is about to be the classiest place your side of the Hudson River. Or perhaps you’d rather have us promise to stay within budget and keep the detailed financial tracking behind closed doors until the very end - we can do that too. We’re there for you as much as possible. Email us, text us, and/or give us a call. We’ll stay in touch with you throughout your project whatever way you’re most comfortable. 3.) We work in phases. You don’t have to feel like every design decision we make is necessarily final! Sometimes you need to live in your newly imagined space first and then make necessary edits to make it perfect! We’re all about doing phase 1, the major overhaul then letting you live in your space for a week or two, asking you how you feel and what could be better, and then addressing those issues with phase 2. Change orders will be issued if major adjustments are requested.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We specialize in maximizing property value through smart renovations and design. Before starting Nestrs with wife and business partner Sarah Roussos-Karakaian, Nick received his masters degree in Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University. He also teamed up with Keller William Realty which has strengthened his diverse background making him uniquely qualified to determine what architectural and design elements will bring the most value to your property and then executing them in a cost effective way. Last summer, Nick and Sarah had their work featured on HGTV’s Beach Flip where they flipped a three bedroom, two bathroom beach house together. Since then, they have spoken at several local home and garden shows and educational seminars to help homeowners accomplish their renovation and design goals!
