FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price varies on what you want and how far you are from me. I calculate in the travel time and price of gas as well as any difficult and involved particularities you ask for, so each price is customized. That said, I've been told 100% of the time that my prices are far lower than my competition and that the service I offer is of a much higher quality. I see no reason to charge someone hundreds of dollars for a task they could do themselves given the time and inclination. Save those hundreds of dollars for a skill you don't have, like a root canal. :) This is just house cleaning! I just want a living wage for a humble, happy life, and because I work for myself, all of your money goes back to supplies for your home to stay clean and fresh and to my livelihood. That's how come my quality is higher but my prices are lower: I'm not a service. I'm a person.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to work out details over email or text messages for two reasons: it creates a written record of our transactions for reference, and I'm not available to take phone calls while I'm on a job, so this limits my time and makes communication cumbersome. I arrive at your house within the time window we've agreed on, and I do the initial clean that same day. If you leave me with a priority list, I do as much as I can following your order of operations; if you leave me to my own devices, I usually start with the kitchen and then move to the bathrooms in order of most used to least. I'm not always able to get everything on the list completed with the first session, but if you'll be patient with me, within a few recurring visits, I will have deeply and lovingly cleaned every item within my reach inside your home for a thorough, detailed, complete clean.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a professional cleaner with "My Chores are Yours" in Lansing, Michigan, before relocating to Cincinnati. Ms. Babcock, the owner, offers very thorough training, and I also received a ton of on-the-job training from the mentors I job-shadowed.
