FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates change based on the work required, but I strive to maintain reasonable prices. I do not charge any extra fees for travel or prep work. I only request that you cancel a tutoring session 24 hours in advance. If you cancel after then or are a no-show, I will charge a fee equivalent to one hour of work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a college student studying for transfer for a B.S. in Biology. I did extremely well in high school - I earned a 2280 on the SAT, was accepted to four UCs, and received my diploma with a 3.4 GPA. I was unable to go to a four-year due to extenuating circumstances, but I currently maintain a 3.0 GPA at community college and hope to transfer to a UC this fall. I've completed all general math courses up through Calculus III, as well as statistics, with Bs or higher. I've completed two semesters of college-level English composition and English literature courses with As. I also have earned As in all my general biology courses.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have tutored friends for perhaps ten or so years, and I began working as a tutor in high school, teaching Algebra and Geometry. I enjoyed helping students understand the bigger picture behind many math courses, so I kept doing it in college and started teaching more subjects.
