Introduction: I am a native mandarin speaker from China. I have been a Mandarin class teaching assistant during my time in Appalachian State University.
In the class, we were using the Chinese only teaching method to allow students get involved into the language usage scenarios. I am a communication-oriented tutor, because I believe dialogues taught are useful phrases to build up students confidence and interests to use the language more often.
I would love customize the study content and methods that reach students' goals effectively. So I am able to either help for test prep or work on the daily language. I can easily make slide shows and props to help students understand the scenario of the class.
Language tutoring is more like making friends rather than a traditional teaching job for me. Communicating with people and exchanging the study experience and language related culture stories are what I am expecting gain from this job.
