FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes. A three-course dinner party for 2 - 4 people is a flat rate of $200.(not including groceries). Then add $35 extra per person, up to 20 people. (I sometimes need to add $25.for a long distance) Once the date is selected, the client sends me a deposit through Paypal to book the date. That deposit will go toward the grocery expense. Groceries are always separate from my services., so the client can control cost by what he chooses from my menu. When groceries are separate, the client has the option of choosing anything on the menu of over 100 entrees and having extra portions for his guests to take seconds. Dinner is served family style, so there is no skimping on portion size or quality of ingredients, (as there is with Chefs that offer "food included" and have to watch their bottom line).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If the client is planning a dinner party, I first ask where the party will be, so we can determine distance. Then the date is selected. The client will be asked to send a deposit and we will proceed to plan the menu via email and phone. My services are to shop for groceries, bring them to the client's home on that day, cook a three course meal and clean up after myself.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Though I have been preparing food since age twelve, I have cooked professionally for about 12 years. When asked about my training, as is the case with a few professionals including one "Iron Chef", experience was my teacher. I have been an active member of the American Culinary Federation. My title is listed as "Professional Culinarian". My Cuisine is International and includes everything from appetizers to desserts, breads and specialty cakes.
