FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are fairly flexible, but I use a benchmark of $100 an hour to guide my clients towards the right price. This encompasses both shooting and editing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process for working with a new customer varies by size of project. For smaller shoots (head shots and portraits) I contact the customer beforehand and offer a free consultation. I usually try to gauge what type of shots the customer is looking for and we strategize, together, how we can get them. I usually ask the customer to send me some photography they've seen in the past that resembles their vision. The more context I can get before the shoot, the better. For larger projects (like weddings or product photography), I do the same as above only in person. It's important that the client is comfortable with me before we go into any extended shoot.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've taken numerous classes in the field of photography, but the majority of what I know is self-taught. I regularly pick up new skills and techniques using Youtube, Lynda and MeetUp groups.
