About this pro
Before I began working with David I felt like therapy was something I had repeatedly failed. My work with other professionals morphed into the same conversation that always ended with the same question: What did I do wrong? But in working with David I have -- for the first time -- discovered that my anxiety and anger are things I can process. David created a safe environment in which I've learned to allow myself to experience my emotions and, in turn, slowly begin to work through them. Unlike my previous experiences in therapy, David has provided me with practices and tools that I can use after our sessions end. As a result, I finally feel as though I am an active member in my therapy, instead of the cause of all my problems.Dec 7, 2016
My association with David started 4 years ago and he has helped me to overcome many life long obstacles I have been dealing with. I have had other counselors in my life, but until I met David I did not feel I was getting anywhere. His passion, dedication and emotion along with listening to his clients leads to understanding and methods that he has helped me to establish within myself, allowing me to forgive my past and grow to who I am today. As a man this has been a huge step for me. I have encouraged friends and family to contact David and I feel he has become a lifeline for them also. Let David become your lifeline.Nov 24, 2016
I've been working with Dave for 18 months now and he quickly played an integral role in addressing challenges ranging from career to relationships to a recent death in the family. Dave's ability to initiate self-discovery through open, natural conversation is truly unique based on my past counseling experiences. What's more, his methodology of self-empowerment employs positivity and empathy rather than guilt or lecturing. No issue is too small to discuss or too large to tackle. I leave every session feeling better prepared to take on the obstacles, both internal and external, that previously kept me from leading the life I desired.Nov 17, 2016
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My standard rate for a 50-minute session is $120. I do have a few sliding-scale-fee slots available, so feel free to inquire about those.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I typically meet with a prospective client in person for a free consultation. The point of this consultation is to gain an understanding of what concerns the client would like to address in counseling or coaching, and equally important, for the client to get a sense of my style and approach to the process of counseling and coaching.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado Denver, which I earned in 2009. I am licensed in the state of Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), which means that I have 2000 hours of post-graduate experience under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
