FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to start all of my resume and cover letter review projects by conducting a traditional recruiting phone call, so that I can not only get a sense of your academic and professional background, as well as career goals at this stage, but also to assess your comfort with a phone interview and ability to compelling express yourself to an entry-level HR screener, who will inevitably be your first point of contact in the hiring process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have several years of experience as a recruiter, career advisor, and academic advisor in the for-profit, non-profit, and educational sectors. I have reviewed and edited over 5,000 resumes and cover letters during my career, taught multiple resume and cover letter building workshops, helped to develop interview questions for several Fortune 500 companies, and have conducted both screening and final-stage interviews for clients.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began working with college-level upperclassmen at California State University, Sacramento, where I helped students prepare for full-time careers after graduation. I continued to work as a career advisor for returning military veterans at the non-profit organization American Corporate Partners before becoming a recruiter and Director of Business Development for one of the oldest executive search firms in Manhattan, where I focused on Fortune 500 companies in the Northeast Corridor.
