FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is dependent on my client's project, timeline and budget. If necessary, I usually like to begin with a questionnaire that helps me learn more about my client and their design needs. After that, I typically curate with a couple of moodboards that visually show the aesthetic (typography, colors, overall feel) I have planned for the project. Based on the client's feedback, I will move ahead in the agreed upon direction by mocking up around 5 versions (varies from logo to print collateral projects) of the design. From there the client will choose, and narrow in on a specific design.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in graphic design from Iowa State University. I also spent four months studying in the ISU design program in Rome, Italy.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After college, I knew I wanted to do more than just my typical day job. I was interested in pursuing other creative outlets, so I started my own paper company, Flyover Design Co. that specializes in special occasion stationery. Aside from just designing paper goods, I was also interested in working on other design projects such as branding, logo development and web design.
